I grew up in Hong Kong surrounded by Chinese characters, watching my dad write them and absorbing the culture before I even knew it would one day become part of my work.
So when I first picked up a Máobǐ brush at a brand event, it didn't feel like I was putting on a performance. It felt familiar. It felt like home.
My journey with Western calligraphy started for a completely different reason. I wanted to create all the stationery for my own wedding, so I taught myself how to do it.
Since then, that little personal project has grown into something I never expected. Today, I create live calligraphy for brands including Prada, Montblanc, and Porsche, in front of an audience.
For me, it's more than "beautiful writing", it's something personal with a story, made by hand, in the moment.
