Growing up in Hong Kong with a creative father, Candy showed natural creative flair from childhood. Fast forward a few decades and swayed by the perception of "the starving artist", she ignored her creative urges and chose a more conventional path, a career in finance.

Despite experiencing success in the corporate world, she couldn't shake the feeling of being unfulfilled, emotionally drained, and burnt out. The overwhelming belief that life was too short to work a job that didn't light her up became impossible to ignore.

It was time for a change.

In 2020, Candy took her first leap into a creative life, offering fine art, live event illustration, and calligraphy. After briefly returning to finance, she left the corporate world for good in November 2024 to fully commit to her artistic journey.

In just a few years, she has built one of Melbourne's most sought-after live event art practices, working with over 30 international luxury brands, showing work in exhibitions across Australia, completing artist residencies, and earning a reputation as one of the most versatile live artists in Australia. She offers live illustration, free-hand engraving, and Western and Chinese calligraphy, making her one of the very few artists in Australia who can deliver all three services.

Fine Art

In her studio, Candy creates still life paintings that celebrate life's small, meaningful moments. Focusing on everyday objects that might otherwise be overlooked, she turns them into beautiful reminders of joy, memory, and connection. Through careful detail and softness of style, her work offers viewers a quiet, reflective experience.

In June 2026, Candy will be heading to Studio Kura in Fukuoka, Japan for an international artist residency, with new work and an art fair appearance planned for later in the year.
