How it works.
Pose for the photo
Artists will invite the guests to pose for photos, which will use as references to create their sketches. Artists will also put a display of sample sketch on the table so they have an idea about what they are about to do.

Enjoy the Event
Guests are welcome to watch while our artists draw, but they don't need to queue or wait for their portraits.
They can continue to enjoy the event, mingle and have fun.

Come back to pick up the drawing
During the event, artists will keep painting and turn the table into a pop-up gallery, where guests can check out their own and others' illustrations. This is often the fun part! Guests are welcome to take their sketches home and it will be all professionally packed in plastic sleeve or white envelope with backing board.

What is live illustration?
Live illustration is an interactive experience where an artist creates portraits or illustrations for guests in real time during an event.
Depending on the brief, artwork can be created as individual guest portraits, couples, families, groups or other bespoke illustrations.
What type of events is live illustration suitable for?
Live illustration works particularly well for luxury retail activations, fashion and beauty events, VIP appointments, product launches, corporate events, brand celebrations and private events.
Can the illustration style be customised?
Yes. The illustration approach can be developed around your brand aesthetic, campaign direction, audience and event environment.
We can discuss colour palette, paper, artwork format, level of detail, clothing interpretation and overall visual direction as part of the brief.
How many guests can an artist illustrate?
Capacity depends on the illustration style, artwork format, event duration and complexity. If we are sketching the guests at event, we can sketch 10 guest per hour.
For larger activations, BonBon can curate multiple artists to increase capacity and maintain a smooth guest experience.
Can you provide multiple illustrators?
Yes. We can coordinate a curated team of illustrators for larger activations, multiple locations or events with higher guest volumes.
Can the artwork include branding?
Yes. Artwork can incorporate appropriate branding elements such as pre-printed names, dates, logos, campaign details or branded stationery, depending on the project.
Do you travel?
Yes. BonBon Creative Co. can coordinate illustration experiences across Melbourne, interstate and selected projects across Australia and New Zealand.
Travel and accommodation requirements are quoted according to the location and scope of each project.
How much does live illustration cost?
Every project is quoted individually based on the scope and requirements.
Pricing can depend on the number of artists, event duration, number of guests, artwork format, preparation, materials, travel and any additional customisation required.
